Our Mission

To help as many people as possible attain optimum health and vitality through education and natural means without the use of unnecessary drugs or surgery. Or, simply, to heal the world.

Our Practitioners

Longevity Wellness, a division of Crane Health, is dedicated to providing excellent healthcare to the Sarasota and gulf coast community. Each practitioner in our clinic has an undergraduate degree and then attended a four-year graduate school program in Traditional Chinese medicine. Their medical education included extensive training in Chinese medical theory and diagnosis, acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition, western medical theory and diagnosis, as well as massage and qi gong. The clinical training took place in a busy outpatient setting under the supervision of doctors of both Chinese and Western medicine. While all of our acupuncturists have been trained as general practitioners, each has their own unique specialty. The acupuncturists at Longevity are devoted to integrating the use of Chinese medicine with the more mainstream western care most people receive. They are proud to be a part of the established professional medical community the Sarasota Florida region.

About our Name and Clinic

What’s in a Name ? Crane Health. We chose the image of the Crane in reference to a story told by our teacher, Dr. Wu. Ages ago Confucius was carried from the mountains down to the people on the shoulders of a White Crane. We thought that this was a good image for our philosophy of practice as we believe that as practitioners we are teachers. Historically, the title ‘Doctor’ denotes a teacher. We always try to explain how we can help or how processes in your body are occurring. As acupuncturists we ‘teach’ your body to activate the self and healing intelligence that exists with each and every one of us. Serendipitously the crane is also a symbol of harmony and longevity which fits perfectly with our clinic name, longevity Wellness. And our clinic is very near a the Sandhill Crane habitat in the Palmer Ranch area of Sarasota so we get to see and hear the magnificence of the crane in our daily lives. Our original name and corporate name is Crane Acupuncture and Herbs, Inc. We found the name was a little long and not inclusive of everything that we do. As a result, we changed our name to Crane Health. Our first office was located in South Tampa, FL. We enjoyed South Tampa but were drawn to Sarasota. We rented a room at Longevity Wellness Clinic and started doing treatments there two days a weeks. Shortly thereafter the owner of Longevity, Dr. Pam Robbins, and her husband were called to move on to greater things and they asked if we would care for the clinic they built. In February 2013 we took over operations of Longevity Wellness and dedicated ourselves full time to the care of the Sarasota Community. The name then changed to Longevity Wellness, a division of Crane Health. We have clients from all over Manatee County and Sarasota County visit us for our acupuncture services including the surrounding towns of  Anna Maria, Longboat Key, Bradenton, Bradenton Beach, Holmes Beach, Palmetto, Sarasota, Siesta Key, Venice, North Port, Osprey, Nokomis, Englewood and surrounding towns.

Services

At Longevity each patient receives a personalized treatment plan that may include a combination of Chinese medicine therapies and practices, as well as individually tailored nutrition supplements, designed to meet your specific health needs. Our treatments are safe and effective and can be used as both an alternative and a complement to Western medicine.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture—the use of sterile, safe, hair-thin needles painlessly inserted at specific points on the body to stimulate healing—is one of the world’s oldest therapeutic modalities. Acupuncture has been clinically proven to treat a wide range of health issues; studies show it is especially effective in the treatment of chronic pain, osteoarthritis, and migraines, providing relief where traditional Western treatments have failed. Though acupuncture is still new to many Americans, both elite U.S. hospitals and the U.S. military recognize its effectiveness: Acupuncture is offered at leading medical centers like the Mayo Clinic and is used in U.S. military hospitals and in front-line combat in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Nutritional Healing

Nutritional Healing combines traditional Chinese dietary therapy with Western nutrition science; the aim is to prescribe the precise nutrients your body needs to treat your specific health issues, increase healing and enhance performance. OurStandard Process whole food supplements are derived directly from natural foods and therefore safe and highly effective. Through Nutrition Response Testing—a form of applied kinesiology that uses the body’s own feedback as a diagnostic tool—we are able to determine precisely which nutrients your body needs to achieve optimum health.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

For over 2,000 years, Chinese medicine has used herbal medicine to successfully reduce pain and inflammation, treat health issues and improve immunity. Derived primarily from plant, animal and mineral sources, Chinese herbal therapies are safe, virtually side-effect-free, and may be used in conjunction with pharmaceuticals. Both Dr. Cynthia Clark and Dr. Courtney Connell possess comprehensive knowledge of herbal safety and herb-pharmaceutical interactions, which allows them to safely and effectively integrate Chinese herbal medicine into their individualized treatment programs.

Pulse Diagnosis

Pulse Diagnosis is a primary diagnostic tool of the Acupuncture Physician. A properly trained physician can use the pulse to see inside the body and confirm a suspected diagnosis or the pulse can reveal a hidden medical issue or predict the development of a disease. At Crane Health we use multiple pulse diagnosis techniques to help us understand a patients complaints and to evaluate our treatment.

Non-Needle Acupuncture

Your treatment plan may include additional Chinese therapeutic techniques, often used in combination with acupuncture and herbal medicine:
