BNI Southwest Florida Mission: Members having an Amazing Experience, developing Networking Skills, building Deep Relationships, Making More Money, all while having Fun!

BNI's (Business Network International) Mission is to help members increase their business through a structured, positive and professional referral marketing program that enables them to develop long-term, meaningful relationships with quality business professionals. There are more than 50 BNI chapters in the communities of Southwest Florida including:

BNI SWFL serves Charlotte, Collier, De Soto, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, Monroe, Lee, Manatee, Polk and Sarasota Counties. The philosophy of BNI is built upon the idea of "Givers Gain".  BNI offers members the opportunity to share ideas, contacts, networks and most importantly, business referrals.  Being a member of  BNI is like having sales people working for you every day who market your product or service.  If referrals are an important part of your business, then BNI is the organization for you. And it works!  In 2015, over 190,000 members of BNI worldwide passed over 7.7 million referrals which resulted in more than $9.3 billion in business!  In southwest Florida, chapter referrals have generated millions of dollars for our members. Since 1985 BNI referrals have generated $51 billion in business worldwide. First Time Visitors. The best way to find out about BNI is to visit a chapter.  If you are a first time visitor, please call (941) 755-6258click here to send an email or click here to find out more about how to visit and join chapter. If you are interested in starting a new chapter, you will also find the information on the process and who to contact.

Started in January 1985 by Dr. Ivan R. Misner, BNI provides a positive, supportive, and structured environment for men and women to further their business through referral marketing.Networking requires commitment. The most successful chapters of BNI consist of members who are sincerely committed to helping one another through networking. They are a team. As a participant in BNI, you are responsible for complying with the policies and guidelines of the organization. The first step is to find a chapter and visit in order to see what BNI is all about. Explaining a BNI meeting is like giving a haircut over the phone - not very effective. BNI meetings are best experienced in person. A partial list of the policies of BNI is shown below:
  • Only one person from each professional specialty is permitted to join a chapter of BNI.
  • All participants should represent their primary occupation, not a part-time business.
  • Attendance is critical. If you cannot attend a meeting, you may send a substitute. This will not count as an absence.
  • Participation in the chapter by members is a key to the success of a group. Members can participate by bringing bona-fide referrals and/or visitors to their BNI chapter.
Most chapters have a nominal meeting fee to cover the room and meal charges. You will have the opportunity to stand and do a commercial for your company (unless your competitor is a member, then you simply "observe"). Bring LOTS of business cards because you will also have a chance to pass them to all of the members. If you can’t find a chapter with an opening for your business phone or email the BNI Southwest Florida office.

The benefits of membership are many!

1. Increased exposure to many other people and businesses. 2. Building solid business relationships that will last for the rest of your life 3. Tools to network more effectively, including educational workshops and mentoring 4. Visibility, Credibility and Profitability for each of our members 5. And much, much more!!!
